London: Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd, 1899. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Undated, circa 1899. Volume VI is entitled "The British Grasses, Sedges, Ferns and their Allies The Club Mosses, Pepperworts, and Horsetails". This set has been carefully and professionally rebound with brown calf over the spines with three raised bands and gilt titles, beige marble paper covered boards. It also has new, plain green end papers. The contents of the books are original and complete, abundantly illustrated with full page full colour plates. Some light foxing to the original end papers, title pages and frontispieces, thereafter text pages and illustrations smooth clean and bright. A faded ink previous owner name written at the top of the title page to each volume. A beautifully preserved set.
