London, Simpkin & Co, 1857-58, . . contemporary leather backed boards, gilt title lettering on leather spine, expertly rebacked preserving original spine and boards, minor foxing on few leaves, interior is near fine and clean, in very good sound and tight covers. . 8vo [22 x 14 cm]; [iv], 348, iv, 348 pp, 2 volumes in one, 25 fine hand-colored plates, including folding, extra engraved title page, other illustrations and plates, garden plans, index. . This is collection of articles produced monthly on all aspects of flowers, including lists of new and rare plants, with submissions from various authors. The hand coloured engraved plates, some from Harrison's drawings, each depictorialone or several varieties of flowers, all quite colorful and nicely done.
