About This Item
New York: Boni & Liveright Publishers, 1923. An early work by the famed Holywood screenwriter, a murder mystery. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition. Linen cloth binding with titling and decorations in black on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 256 pages; frontis and four other black-and-white illustrations by Wallace Smith. Pencil signatures and notation on the endpapers. Spine is slightly darkened and there is a small tear to the upper, which does affect the title; top a bit dusty. Basically a sound copy, despite these named defects. And a good read!. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Minus)/No Jacket. Illus. by Wallace Smith. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
