About This Item
Flora MacLean's Reward: A Tale of the Hebrides by Jane M. Kippen.
Hardback, 1883, first edition, published by Oliphant, Anderson & Ferrier, Edinburgh, rare vintage children's book.
Pictorial and patterned boards. Gilt lettering to front board. Some fading to spine but with patterning and lettering still quite clear. Boards are quite scuffed and a little marked but have retained much of their colour. Signs of rubbing and shelf-wear. Corners bumped and a little torn. Binding reasonably firm though strained in the off place and front and rear inner hinges are cracked. Page edges browned. Several stamps (either of a previous owner or seller) to first few pages and a gift inscription to but otherwise page surfaces are quite clean, odd marks here and there but and minor creases but no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
