About This Item
Hardcover edition, published by Modern Library. The dust jacket is intact, though it has been price clipped. Originally published in 1941, this is a later edition. Considering the binding style, Toledano Style 11, this copy is from 1963 - 1967. Beautiful dark red cloth covered boards, with the distinctive Modern Library torch bearer logo with the title and author name on the spine in gold. Torch bearer logo impressed on the front board within a hexagon. Includes; Juno and the Paycock by Sean O'Casey, Riders to the Sea by John Synge, Spreading the News by Lady Gregory, and Shadow and Substance by Paul Vincent Carroll, as well as an introduction by George Jean Nathan. 332 pages. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover, just has some rubbing wear marks to the spine, and light edge wear a the head and heel. Former owner's name on the top edge of the title page, in fine point black ink, about two inches long, and a second name on the first blank flyleaf, also about two inches long. No further writing besides that name. Not a library discard. The boards are flat, no edge wear to the boards, the corners are not bumped or creased. Some dots of age foxing to the top edge of the text block. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
