First publication of the 1775 journal of Father Vicente Santa Maria, member of the very first Spanish voyage of exploration into San Francisco Bay. Text on the left in the original eighteenth century Spanish, and corresponding English translation on the facing pages. Reproductions of four early Spanish maps, plus six color illustrations created by Louis Choris in 1816. Fine, no dust jacket.
