Another in this popular mid-twentieth-century children's series, each written & illustrated by different authors/artists. This one offers a clear, fact-based, non-scary approach to snakes, in 68 pages + Index, with decorative snakeskin endpapers & illustrations throughout by Paul Wenck. Orig. published in 1952, this is the 1956 Revised Edition, Second Printing. Hardcover 8vo (7.25" x 8.75") has brown cloth-covered boards lettered in black to front & spine, with a stamped picture of a snake to front, too. Condition is Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, pages white with a hint of tanning, but completely unmarked. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, corners crisp. The unclipped DJ (with orig. $1.95 price intact to front flap) is VG, with rubbing to extremities & minor edgewear, including chipping at corners, spine tips, & top edge of back cover.
