Number line in the book reads as follows: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. Volume itself has red covers with sharp gilt lettering on the spine. 239 pages, 48 chapters, including an afterword. Although this novel is fiction, it is based on real events. The real event is the great coalfield war of 1913-1914 in Colorado known to history as the Ludlow Massacre. The facts of the tragedy are well chronicled in history. This book addresses the human suffering and tragedy and the impact of one the nation's most grueling strikes. The front dust flap has a light crease running the entire length of the flap; I have tried to flaten out and compress as much as much as possible to minimize any impact. A very nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box!
