SIGNED and NUMBERED (#518/1300) lithograph by the noted historical artist Don Troiani. Printed on stiff cardboard stock suitable for framing. It measures 24 1/2" x 33 1/2". As New condition copy from the widow (Mary Younger) of the noted Civil War specialist and publisher Robert (Bob) Younger of Morningside Books, Dayton, Ohio. Long essay on the C.O.A. by A. Collin Macdonald that notes that December 11, 1862, "was an exceptional moment in American military history. The men of the 20th Massachusetts Infantry were among the troops sent across the Rappahannock River and take the Confederate-held town of Fredericksburg, VA. As they pushed into town, the men of the Harvard Regiment soon found themselves engaged in another military rarity of the time: street fighting. After a bloody day of unprecedented fighting, the shattered town was in Union hands." Remarkably vibrant colors, a stark and arresting scene of carnage, quite finely rendered.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
