About This Item

London: F I R E., 1968. Unbound Folio in purple illustrated cardstock wraps with various colored cardstock leaves, 32 pp. Good only for its age and delicacy, with a split to top 1/3 of spine, edgeworn including chipping and closed tears, some fading and staining to cover, otherwise clean and readable within.. Cover by Jutta Werner, drawings by Dodo von Greiff, Harry Trevor, Hans Broeg, Jutta Werner, and Frances Horne.. Second issue of Berke's striking and storied FIRE journal, one of 3000 printed. This issue is a self-described "dialectic between direct revolutionary action and cultural guerilla warfare" and features contributors (amongst others) from the former (Che Guevara) to the more abstracted borderlands of the latter (Julian Beck, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Calvin Hernton).
