About This Item
Miramax, 2004. DVD Movie. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Radha Mitchell, Dustin Hoffman. 101 minutes. Widescreen format. Closed captions. Fine copy with original artwork. Screenplay by David Magee, based on the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee. Based, loosely, on the story of J. M. Barrie and how he found his lost boys. Depp does fairly well with the accent but really is miscast as Barrie. He can not manage to portray the plegmatic nature of the playwright who created Peter Pan. Also, many things in the real story are even better than the created incidents in this film. However, the set and costumes are well done.
