The Film Finds its Tongue, Fitzhugh Green, New York & London: G P Putnam's Sons, The Knickerbocker Press, 1929: First Edition (stated). 316 pages, 31 Photographic Illustrations. This rare first edition of Green's book is full of photographs of the men who created the talkies, the machines, the productions, and the stars of early sound films. Well ordered, easy to read history and anecdotes as well as its 31 photographs make this a real collector's gem!
Condition: Original first edition, in its original cover and complete as shown. Its sections on the men, the machines, the productions and the talkie "boom" are illustrated with all of its 31 photographs. (See full table of contents and listing of illustrations in our photographs attached). The binding is firm and the cover shows wear as photographed, with the spine gilt a bit subdued but good. No library markings, writing or underlinings or marks were found within. A really good original first edition! We carefully photograph our items so that you can review details of condition.
