Missing page 47/48 with page 49/50 damaged & missing some info at inside hinge. Year book covering the year of the release of "The Jazz Singer" with Al Jolson that is credited in the popular imagination as being the first 'talkie.' Could find no mention of the film or Jolson in either index, however the editorial index sites "Talking Films" further siting several references. "List of...", page 915 which lists Bristol-Phone, Kinographone, Movietone, Phonofilm, Vitaphone and Vocafilm; "Personnel of Companies", page 731; "Manufacturers and Distributors", page 915; "Personnel of Studios (Listed Under Studios)", page 409; "New Inventions and Devices", 862-868. Ads many with photographs for actors, directors, producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, etc. etc. Ronald Colman, Warner Baxter, Harold Lloyd, pictureless ad for John Ford's "Four Sons", Monty Banks, Montagu Love, Mae Murray, F.W. Murnau, Mary Prevost, Frank Capra, Jean Hersholt, 3 page ad for Vocafilm, Clara Bow, Thelma Todd, Billy Butts, Gary Cooper, half page ad for Zakoro Film Corporation featuring Potemkin and The Last Moment and on and on. Box office and seating capacity for all theaters in the U.S. Stats and summaries for foreign theaters, how to publicize films, insurance, equipment and much more. 1011 pages. . Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket.
