Profusely illustrated with photographs by the author plus eight, from paintings, in colour. Tissue-protected colour frontis. Map of Franz Josef Archipelago affixed at back bears four openings. Handsome gilt decoration and letting upon front board. Colour decoration upon backstrip. Narrow opening to binding after half-title. Back hinge open. Unmarked. Heavy external wear. Despite these shortcoming, a worthy reading copy of this extensively documented work..
