First edition. 144 p. 30 cm. Illustrations. Bibliography. The author served in the British Army for over thirty years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant-COlonel. He was educated at Oxford and at the end of the Second World War was commissioned into the Royal Tank Regiment. He served in combat during the Korean Police Action and commanded a squadron during counterinsurgency operations in Borneo and what was then called Aden (Yemen). He also taught as the Royal Armoured Corps Gunnery School. He rejoined civilian life iin 1977.
