A collection of essays covering nearly 200 years of feminist thought from classic works by Abigail Adams, de Beauvoir, Wollstonecraft, Stanton, Anthony, Goldman, Gilman, Sanger, Woolf and Mead. This collection of 32 excerpts and essays edited and introduced by Alice S. Rossi, a noted 20th century sociologist and founding member of the National Organization for Women. First printing, first Bantam edition, first edition thus. Mass market paperback, about 4 x 7 inches, 716 pages including references. Wrappers' graphic design shows title in gold lettering against white background on front and back covers and spine, with partial list of authors in black lettering. Previous owner's name on fep, text lightly age-tanned, o/w clean, complete, with no noticeable damage or flaws. No underlining or highlighting, no creasing or tearing. Wrappers show only very minor creasing and age-tanning. A very decent reading copy bringing together many of feminist movement's best thinkers and movers.
