Cincinnati: The Caxton Press, 1930. Lloyd (1849-1936) was a noted pharmacist who had a second career as a writer of both local history and speculative fiction. This biography tells the story of a Jewish pedlar (1827-1886) who also served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. Published by the Author. Illustrated by J. Augustus Knapp. This is a Near Fine copy of the Second Printing, limited to one thousand copies. Brown cloth decorative binding with beveled edges; top edge and lettering is gilt; tipped onto the front cover is an inked portrait of Moses. Clean text; 354 pages, with Addenda and a map as the front paste-down; gift inscription on FFEP. Mild rubbing at the corners and very light wear; close to a Fine copy of this fascinating bit of American history. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Second Printing.. Decorative Cloth.
