Philadelphia, PA: J.B. Lippincott Company, 1923. 1st. Good. Good Condtion. Appears to be a book club edition by Lippincott. Red boards with black lettering and the "A. Fleming Stone detective story," emblem on the front. Slightly loose boards, shelf wear to spine. Some favored pages show loosening but stitching remains firm. Carolyn Wells 1862-1942 wrote 170 books in her lifetime in 1897, according to her autobiography, she heard a particular mystery novel being read on the radio and from then one devoted herself to the mystery genre. This is the 14th book in the Fleming Stone detective series. This popular book is still in print. 348 pg.
