An adventure fiction inspired by the Far East.Guy Boothby (1867-1905) was a prolific Australian writer best known for his Dr Nikola series, and Pharos, the Egyptian, a Gothic tale about Egypt and the supernatural. Boothby was a friend of Rudyard Kipling's, and wrote ghost stories, Gothic horror, science fiction and crime fiction, with particular interest placed on his supernatural works.In a pictorial cloth binding.Illustrated by Stanley L. Wood.A first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, generally smart; spine is a touch cocked with bumping to the head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
