First published condensed in 1964 and in full simultaneously in the US by Alfred A. Knopf and in the UK from Collins Publishers. First thus. Award winning novel, which received the 1965 Gold Dagger Award in the UK and was nominated for the 1966 Edgar Awards. In this novel, Archer investigates the disappearance of a boy from a private reform school. Complete with unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear, light bumping and fading to head of spine. Previous owner's gift inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1965. Dust wrapper unclipped and smart, with minor chipping and occasional closed tear, light sunning to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
