About This Item
FANTASY COMMENTATOR was primarily devoted to articles dealing with various aspects of Fantasy and Science Fiction, rather than fans submitting their fictions, or fan squabbles. Sam Moskowitz, for instance, serialized the first draft of his Fanzine History, THE IMMORTAL STORM, in the pages of FC. A. Langly Searles continued column, FORGOTTEN CREATORS OF GHOSTS, provided bio/bibliographical information about current, and neglected ghost story writers of the past; this issue exploring William Fryer-Harvey. .Fantasy in the IDLER magazines by William H. Evans, & Searles is to be noted. Sam Moskowitz defends Donald Wollheim's, PORTABLE NOVELS OF SCIENCE FICTION. They took their time with this publication; nicely printed. Rear-page present, but detatched. These early issues deserve to be reprinted. Sam Moskowitz continued FANTASY COMMENTATOR well into the 1980's. A very good copy.
