Boston: Houghton and Mifflin. Good with no dust jacket. 1927. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Author's first book. Quarter-bound in black cloth; boards are bound in red paper with gilt and black designs. Title and author embossed on spine; gilt, but nearly faded. Boards have wear at all edges, with bumping at the fore-edge corners; back board has black soiling near fore-edge and tail of spine; some wear on cloth at head and foot of spine. Water stain - top down - has caused some of the red on the boards to bleed onto the paste-down and free end papers; the water stain shows throughout book, however text is not affected. Previous owner inscription on upper corners of front paste-down. Stanley Vestal (1887 - 1957) was an American writer, historian, and biographer; his works concentrate on the American Old West. Fandango is a collection of Western ballads about the adventures of Kit Carson and other cowboy themes. Words only, no sheet music. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 66 pp .
