About This Item

New York: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1904. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 7" by 5". Unamed. A beautiful copy of this volume of navy tales, in a handsome binding. With a black and white photographic frontispiece, and a number of plates. In a handsome prize binding, with a gilt crest to the front board which reads 'Laborum Praemia, 1910'. With the prize book plate to the front paste down, awarded to L. E. Randall from Merchant Taylors' School. Fraser's military work, explores famous fighters in the Navy. In a prize calf binding with gilt design detailing to front board, gilt title and design to the spine, and a mottled fore-edge. Externally, very smart with some shelfwear; a little bumping and rubbing to the extremities, and a few marks. There is a blindstamped ex libris to the second endpaper dated 1962, and a paper bookplate to the front pastedown, awarded to L. E. Randall from Merchant Taylors' School. Internally, the binding is firm and the places are bright and clean, with spotting to the endpapers only. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
