Hartford: Philemon Canfield, 1839. First Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 552pp. Full calf, gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Top half of spine missing, boards edgeworn, scattered foxing throughout most heaveily first 20 pages, endpapers stained, owner's name on front endpapers a couple of small tears in text. Although the contents are partially foxed, the book is still in very readable condition. Author's remarks on the western hemisphere from Quebec through the eastern United States into Mexico and South America. 20 full page engravings.
