Bound in full brown leather. Covers are bordered with a geometric gilt decoration. Spine is lettered in gilt with gilt ornamentation. Endpapers are marbled in brown, black and off-white. Illustrated with plate engravings in black and white occasionally throughout, including a black and white engraving of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper". Frontispiece is a portrait engraving of the author, Philip Doddridge, protected by a tissue leaf. Includes a general index and a general Greek word index, and some tables. Also includes several pages of family records that are unmarked. xviii, 1006 pp. <br><br>CONDITION: Overall VG. Cover and textblock both show moderate wear, as expected for its age. Front inner hinge has cracked; the back hinge is starting at the head, yet boards are well attached and binding is sound. Leaves are toned with significant foxing throughout, yet the text is unmarked. Several pages have been professionally tipped back in, and pagination is complete. A solid copy that looks very nice on the shelf. <br><br>At over 4 lbs., due to this copy's size and weight, an additional shipping charge may apply. Full refund if not satisfied.
