Book and price-clipped dust jacket are in very good condition, generally crisp and clean, with tight binding and sharp corners. SIGNED gift inscription by one of the subjects of the book (Herbert "Shorty" Stark) to his son, commercial pilot Glen Stark. "Shorty" Stark was billed as the Human Bat, a record-breaking parachute jumper, a daredevil wing-walker and a James Cagney lookalike who did Hollywood stunts. He was a celebrity in three World War II air shows, he mingled with Wiley Post, Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh. Historic photos of skydivers throughout. 8vo. 291 pp. Including index. In protective Mylar. .
