About This Item
London: Nelson. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 10 ¼ x 8. This is a large-format (10 ¼ x 8 inches) collection of fourteen well-known fairy stories. The British Library first edition was published in 1922, so although there is no publication date given in the book this copy was likely published in the 1920s or 30s. The interior of the book is tight and complete, but with light reading wear. There are six full page colour plates, (4 by Mabel Lucie Attwell, 1 by Honor Appleton, and 1 uncredited) as well as small black and white illustrations on most pages. The illustrated covers are also in Good condition, with heavy edge wear, rounded corners, etc. The attached scan should give a bettier idea of condition. Contents: Cinderella. -- The Three Bears. -- Lazy John. -- Little Red Riding Hood. -- Henny-Penny. -- Jack & the Beanstock. -- The Wolf & the Seven Kids. -- Hop O' My Thumb. -- The Old Woman and Her Pig. -- Jack Seeks His Fortune. -- The Little Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle. -- The Twelve Huntsmen.
