A record of the two well-known Fairbanks- among the first celebrities of the media age. Signed presentation from Fairbanks Jr. to the youngest sister of President John F. Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy Lawford: "To dear Pat- from an old (and getting older) family friend- and a particularly fond friend and fan of yours- Love, Douglas. The subject of about half of [he draws an arrow to the half-title "The Fairbanks Album"]. Christmas, 1983/ New Year, 1984. See p. 239." On page 239 is a photograph of Fairbanks Jr. buying a bauble at a British relief bazaar from Lady Charles Cavendish (Kathleen Kennedy)- the second Kennedy sister who was tragically killed in a 1948 plane crash. Patricia married actor Peter Lawford in 1954 but they divorced three years after JFK's assassination. A very nice association copy! Very Good (little fade edges); few tears with internal mends with archival tape d/j. $500.00.
