Johannesburg: Silver Leaf Books , 1949. First edition. Cloth. Good/Fine. 7.5" by 5". None. A first edition of Nadine Gordimer's first novel. Neatly signed by the author to the title page. With a facsimile dustwrapper from the original designed by Ernest Ullmann. In original cloth binding with a facsimile unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, cloth has some marks and bumping, as well as some chipping and sunning to the spine. Dustwrapper is smart. Internally, firmly bound and bright, with only some very occasional instances of spotting to the endpapers. Neat ink inscription to the front free endpaper. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
