About This Item
Karlsruhe ::: Jonathan Williams, Publisher,,, 1953... First Printing of the First Edition. A Near Fine copy in paper covers with a Very Good plus dust jacket missing a small chip from the corner of the spine. This is one of only 450 copies published. None of these 60 short pieces were previously published before this collection appeared. Kenneth Patchen is one of those unclassifiable writers--his poetry and prose have a wild kind of purity to them that is hard to explain or ignore. Patchen is a fabulist, a humorist (in a some what dark vein), a surrealist, and a dedicated experimentalist who refuses to be categorized. These fables reflect the myriad aspects of his talent fresh approach to the written word.
