Hardcover, bound in russet cloth with paper covered boards and paper spine label. Top edge gilt. Introduction by Peter A. Tasch. Illustrated with numerous vignette wood-engravings (several full page) throughout by Gillian Lewis Tyler. Limited edition of 1,950 copies, signed and numbered on colophon page by artist, this being copy 134. A collection of over 65 tales purporting moral and political wisdom in a satirical vein similar to Dryden and Swift. No previous ownership marks. A clean, square, internally unmarked copy, several very light and incidental marks to boards. Issued without dust-jacket but lacks publisher's slipcase. Very good+. .
