Leather worn with scuffing and tears on boards, edges, hinges and extremes. Wormholes in lower page corners throughout text with only minor effect on text. Text unmarked. Sold "as-is."
Jean de la Fontaine (1621-1695) was a French poet and the author of popular imaginative tales, or "fables." His fables are written in verse, a French tradition, and were divided into 12 books over two volumes. this book is volume 2 and contains Fables numbered 7 to 12. Originally books 7 and 8 were published in 1678, books 9, 10, and 11 in 1679, and book 12 much later in 1694. Unclear the year of publication in this edition.
