London: printed for Jacob Tonson, within Gray's Inn Gate next Gray's Inn Lane, 1700. First Edition. Hardcover. Folio, [42], 271, 360-646, p. 565, [1] pages. In Very Good condition. Bound in full early diced calf, rebacked with spine restained, but with earlier boards and label preserved. Some chipping and shelf wear to boards. End papers and text block edges age toned. Pages slightly foxed. Two bookplates affixed to front pastedown: that of F.V.M. Madoc and that of the Urban District Council Central Public Reference Library. A purple stamp from the latter appears on the half-title page and on several pages of text. Half-title reads: Mr Dryden's fables. In verse. ESTC R31983; Wing D2278; Macdonald, H. Dryden, 37a; Pforzheimer, 326. JR Consignment. Shelved in Room G.
