About This Item
Wally F. Galleries, 1972. Wraps. Very Good. A 2" tear to cover. Color reproductions; 8 pages; A scarce exhibition catalog. "The compositions, executed as projects for some of his notable murals, stained glass windows, sculpture and large paintings, are being exhibited in the United States for the first time". Joseph Fernand Henri Léger (French: [leÃâe]; February 4, 1881 ââ¬â August 17, 1955) was a French painter, sculptor, and filmmaker. In his early works he created a personal form of cubism (known as "tubism") which he gradually modified into a more figurative, populist style. His boldly simplified treatment of modern subject matter has caused him to be regarded as a forerunner of pop art.
