London: J & A Churchill, 1915. Red Cloth. Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Large. Type: Z 624pp of this scarce English edition. Illustrated with numeorus diagrams, charts and b/w photographs throughout. Neat ink name inscirption Wm Vickers to the front end paper, possibly related to the famous Vickers munitions manufacturers.The cloth at the head and tail of the spine is turned in and there is light mottling to the front board. Significant damp soiling to the lower edge of the rear board with an associated tide mark covering up to 2/3rds of the rear board. There is also a strip of rubbing across the head of the rear board, and across the centre all of this resulting in the rear board being rather unattractive. Tide mark between 5 - 9 cm to the rear paste down and a mirror image tide mark to the rear end paper. There is insect damage with loss to the rear end paper corner adjacent to the spine for 5. 5. cm. No insect damage or loss to any other pages or elsewhere. A little colour run from the boards to the corner of the rear paste down and end paper and very slightly to the fore edge of a few adjacent pages. The pages clean and tight. A good tight copy with a clean textblock.
