New York: Harper & Brothers. Fair with no dust jacket. 1861. First Edition. Hardcover. First edition. Hard cover published by Harper & Brothers in 1861. No dust jacket. Front cover has an embossed image of an African tribesman. Spine is torn completely down back side and at ends, and is only attached along front edge, plus spine is torn some down middle. Corners of covers are bumped and worn, and edges are worn. First blank page has the words First edition, 1861 written on it. The next page has a name of a previous owner and the date (1861) written on it. Pages have some tanning, and some pages have some foxing and stains. The map of west equatorial Africa in back of book has some tears and wear along edges. Book is in acceptable condition. ; 1861; 9.5 X 6.75 X 1.7 inches; 531 pages .
