New York: Harper Brothers, 1861. 479 pages, plus folding gorilla frontispiece, folding map at rear, and numerous plates and illustrations. Collated and complete. Full black leather covers with raised spine bands and gilt stamped lettering. All edges of text block are gilded. Marbled end leaves. Inscribed and dated January 5th, 1901 on blank front fly leaf, wishing the recipient a Happy married life. Leather is a little scuffed and rubbed with light wear at corners. Gilded edges show scattered light scuffs and scratches. Book plate on front paste down. Volume remains tight and is otherwise very clean. . Inscribed and Signed. Second Edition. Full Leather. Good+/No Dust Jacket.
