New York: The Viking Press, 1955. First Edition. First Printing. Octavo (22cm); vertically-striped paper-covered boards and light pink cloth backstrip, with titles stamped in blue on spine; dustjacket; [x],118pp. Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper: "November 21, 1955 / in the hope that this bay be both poetry and modern / Donald Hall." A few tiny tears at crown, contemporary owners name and tiny label of The Grolier Book Shop on front endpaper; Near Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, shelfworn, spine-sunned and dust-soiled, with some losses to spine ends, and several small nicks and tears; Very Good. Early work by the National Book Award nominee and former Poet Laureate of New Hampshire.
