Good/No Jacket (assume none issued). 13 Cms x 19 Cms. xvi+208; lacking front endpaper & gutter open before half-title though quite firm, staple rust makrs in gutters after t.p. to p.xi with this gathering partially disbound (this is odd as the remainder of textblock is conventionally bound with no staples used - perhaps this is an early repair job ?), otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked; covers minimally worn but several marks to front and spine darkened with a few marks and white spots towards bottom. A fairly passionate pro-evolution work attacking the 'Special Creation' view which even if true 'would be simply incomprehensible to us, and therefore quite incapable of exciting either our wonder or our admiration as rational beings.' (closing sentence p.208). No copies listed at time of cataloguing other than post-2000 paperbacks, many with quite inappropriate cover illustrations! This is a genuine 1st edition.
