Hard cover, quarto in brown cloth with gilt titles, 100pp. Condition: Very Good. Striking woodblock prints by Thomas Derrick illustrate the text taken from the Everyman's Library issue of Everyman (no. 381) Rhys has translated the original fifteenth century morality play from the Middle English. He was the founder and editor of J.M. Dent's Everyman's Library Series of nearly one thousand, affordable, titles. Here the art does the talking. Thomas Derrick(1885-1954) was an English artist trained at the Royal Academy of Art employed primarily in book illustration. Condition: Very Good. A couple of gently bumped corners. Otherwise clean and bright. . First trade edition. Hard Cover. Very Good.
