A history of ther old ballpark that was located at 21st and Lehigh in Philadelphia, Shibe Park (later known as Connie Mack Stadium). When it opened in 1909, it was the first concrete and steel baseball facility in America. It saw the rise and fall of two great Philadelphia Athletics teams, hosted eight World Series, two All Star Games and the historic run to the 1950 National League pennant by Richie Ashburn, Robin Roberts and the Phillies' "Whiz Kids". Later printing.
