SIGNED by Broughton Coburn and by Jamling Tenzing on the short title page. Jamling was one of the stars of the film and is the son of famous Tenzing Norgay the first person along with Edmund Hillary to reach the summit of Everest. Original black boards, white lettering spine, debossed lettering front with border. FINE condition in flawless dust jacket. No previous owner marks or writing on any pages, very clean, no crease marks, tight binding. Book measures 31cm tall x 23cm, and has 256 pages, 125 color photos, 4 maps, graph, index. Reviewed in 1998 American Alpine Journal as "the finest book about Mt Everest ever published." Account of the IMAX Everest expedition that made the film Everest directed & filmed by David Breashears featuring Ed Viesturs. In addition to the expedition narrative this is an excellent book on Everest & high altitude climbing, drawing on the vast resources of the NGS and including separate contributions from various experts.
