Haverford, Pennsylvania: Toll & Armstrong, 1972. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Very light wear at the corners and spine ends, topedge modestly foxed, near fine in a price-clipped, very good dust jacket with rubbing and edgewear, a bit of foxing, and the red portion of the spine lightly sunned. Inscribed by the author on the front fly: "Another copy for Sandy to replace the wanderer. Affectionately, Alfred." A novel "of people in the French Resistance who put their lives on the line to rescue downed Allied aviators in occupied France." According to his jacket bio, Satterthwaite served in Army intelligence in WWII and after V-E Day served in an Air Corps Intelligence unit whose mission was to identify and investigate members of the French Resistance who had assisted Allied pilots during German occupation.
