The covers are bumped and soiled. 354 pages, illustrated with 36 sepia-toned photographic illustrations on 32 plates, including depictions of Mussolini, Gabriele d'Annunzio, German Athletic Youth, Heinrich and Thomas Mann, etc. Good. <p>First edition. As the sub-title so aptly describes it, this work captures the social, artistic and political flavor of Europe in the late twenties. Though still several years away, the coming war looms within the sub-text.
