Boston: Dayton and Wentworth, 1853. First edition. Hardcover. Good. First edition. Octavo hardcover in blindstamped brown cloth with spine lettered and decorated in gilt. Frontispiece engraving of Kinney's statue of Allen; 428 pp. , map at page 360. Lacking the rear endpaper. About very good, shallow chipping to the spine ends, some sunning to the spine strip and a light stain rear board. Top portion of the half-title (presumably with an old ownership signature) clipped away.
