Embossed brown cloth with gilt emblem on front; mild bumping to bottom edge. Several gift notes on rear endpapers. Jacket is complete, has wrinkling to laminate, a tear to top rear & a crumpled area at bottom rear. 9,5 x 12,5 in., 208 pp. First part of book is Ahluwalia's treatise on the geology, culture, religion, & climbing history of the Himalayas. This is illustrated with antique maps & engravings. Second part is an unabridged reprint of White's 'Views in India, Chirfly among the Himalaya Mountains', including all of the engravings.
