Lengthy inscription by Dard Hunter at front flyleaf, dated April 10, 1932. Hunter's first publication using his own paper and type, the volume begins with an original etching by William Auerbach Levy, signed by him. Then follows a Foreword and a discourse on the history and the art of etching, both marked by a four-line initial in red. A significant text in content, provenance, and history, bound in quarter vellum with gray-blue paper over boards and paper label to upper cover. Covers somewhat soiled, else near fine in trifold chemise and slipcase. 1915 Member list for the Chicago Society of Etchers, among which was Levy, laid in.
