Limited edition, number 506 of 1000 copies. Publisher's paper covered boards with bevelled board edges, covers heavily marked and stained. Spine has loss to head, slight chipping to foot and vertical creasing. Heavy foxing to page edges. Text is heavily foxed throughout. The photographic plates are clean. Spanish language. Previous owner's inscription to title page, below this the title page has been signed by co-author Jose Torre Revello. From the private collection of Eric Kenneth Prentice 'Kenn' Back, meteorologist who worked with the British Antarctic Survey for nearly 40 years, recipient of both the Fuchs Medal and the Polar Medal, and a descendent of Sir George Back, the Arctic explorer. With Back's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper. This volume focuses on Colonial architecture. A second volume on art was published (on better quality paper) in 1944, we also have this in stock. .
