Secker & Warburg, 1960. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 1960. First Edition. 200 pages. Signed by the author. A History of Perfumes & Cosmetics. Pictorial dust jacket over black cloth with gilt lettering. Signed by the author, with dedication. Book has a slight perfume odour. Heavy creasing and tearing to jacket rear. Contains black and white illustrated and photographic plates. Pages are mostly clear, with light tanning to text block edges. Occasional faint thumb-marking present throughout, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Very minor dog-eared corners. Plates are bright and clear, with slight tanning to edges. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and slight crushing to spine ends. pale liquid drops on front board. Gilt lettering is fairly bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has heavy surface wear, with a loss to spine end, and heavy tears and creasing to rear panel. Moderate creasing and small tears across upper and lower edges. Lightly tanned overall.
