Bound in publisher's original red cloth ruled in blind with spine lettered in gilt. Near Fine with light rubbing to cloth at extremities, slight spine fading, two small spots and slight crease to the front cover. The first in a series of greatly influential essays by the Japanese scholar and author, who is credited with spreading Zen and Shin to a western audience through these essays and several other works.
